The Wey Aye Lego Man Photography Exhibition is a wonderful collaboration made up of local artists from the North East who all have additional needs. With the support of not-for-profit organisations New Beginnings NE Ltd, Ngage NE and Ouseburn Farm. This group of artists have broken through and captured the attention of those who love and support the arts.

”We have joined together to help empower one another and break down the barriers that prevent people with learning disabilities from accessing the same creative opportunities many other people take for granted”.

“We wanted our debut photography exhibition to celebrate the local area and show the world how creative and talented we are; not despite, but because of our learning disabilities. We chose Newcastle and Lego Men figures as our subject matter to help us capture our unique experience of living life in this great city”.

‘Wey Aye Lego Man’ is a celebration of the North East, Lego, learning disability empowerment and our shared ability to create imaginary worlds. Each photograph offers the audience a glimpse into the artist's mind, revealing their sense of fun and unique experience of life. Visitors can expect to find a “canny” collection of Lego man photographs celebrating the local area from the perspective of someone who experiences the world a little differently. If you love Newcastle and have fond childhood memories of playing with Lego this event will be “purely belta”!

You can join in the fun by posting your own Lego man photo or video on social media #weyayelegoman

The exhibition is hosted by Ouseburn Farm and opens with an interactive art experience on Friday 21st April 2023 from 5 pm to 8 pm.
